Warped Tour started and ended with a sunrise. From the sunrise on my front porch the morning of my birthday, to this morning's warm orange salute, my cross-country adventures have come to a close once more. It's August 5th, and I just got home from an early morning run to drop off a friend off at the airport for his final flight home. Warped Tour is over and done, another summer on the books. These past eight weeks have been exhausting, but they have also been some of the most fun I have ever had.
Mid-WARPED in the Midwest: Warped Update #6
Hey friends, happy Monday! Today I write you from a bottom bunk on the bus of Denver friends Air Dubai. I've known (and occasionally worked for) this band over the past 7 years, so having them out on warped as well has been a true joy. Today is our second to last off-day of tour, and the IFD crew has chosen to head back to Chicago to enjoy a bit more downtime at home. Since I wouldn't have the same luxury of going home or spending time with friends and family like they all do, I chose to jump ship for the day to spend some time with these guys in Indianapolis, IN instead.
BRAIN-WARPED: Warped Update #5
Every night if we have time, the tour throws a post-show barbecue for staff and guests. When you think about our days, a fourth meal is pretty necessary since many of us don’t end our work until close to 10pm. Boston natives Bad Rabbits chose to make this barbecue their own and played a complimentary extended set that night. Complete with Michael Jackson AND Rage Against the Machine covers. The whole crew danced the night away at what will hopefully go down as one of the best barbecues in Warped Tour history - everyone’s been raving about it all week!
OH CANADAAAH: Warped Update #4
Happy belated 4th of July, friends! It's Saturday the 5th and we are slowly making our way off of the island of Parc Jean-Drapeau in Montréal, Quebec. Today was day two of two in Canada and we’re finally heading back to the states. Since I last updated you all, we have driven two thirds of the way across the continental US and made our way through Canada. I’ve gone from Portland, OR to Montréal in 6 days - pretty insane, huh?!
